NSW Government releases the NSW State Infrastructure Strategy 2018-2038, the Future Transport Strategy 2056 and the Greater Sydney Region Plan, which were developed together to deliver long-term outcomes for the state. The Plan has been prepared concurrently with Future Transport 2056 and State Infrastructure Strategy 2018–2038 to align land use, transport and infrastructure outcomes for Greater Sydney for the first time in a generation. The transport initiatives in this Plan are sourced from Future Transport 2056. They are in four categories: committed, investigation 0–10 years, investigation 10–20 years and visionary 20+ years. The latter three categories require further investigation and The draft Future Transport Strategy sets out a 40-year vision, strategic directions and customer outcomes, with infrastructure and services plans for Greater Sydney and Regional NSW to deliver these directions across the state. It also includes a series of issue-specific and place-based plans. The sustainability of local and regional road infrastructure remains a significant challenge across NSW regional areas. The NSW Roads Congress Communique provides a blueprint for the NSW and Australian Future Transport is engaging extensively with customers across Greater Sydney and Regional NSW to raise awareness, stimulate discussion and place the customer’s voice at the centre of the Strategy and its Plans. Transport for NSW is extending the consultation period for Western Sydney Corridors until June 1, 2018.
