Confluence areas in Forex trading are for traders that like to plan their trades carefully. They look for more than one element to confirm their bias. In the first example used in this article, the bias was bullish. Confluence trading forex means that a trader is analyzing whether various tools and instruments provide confirmation of support and resistance at a similar or same spot on the chart. For instance, if a 50% Fibonacci retracement , a 50 period EMA moving average, a -61.8% Fibonacci target and a trend line all align themselves at one spot on the chart, then this is called trading confluence. In regards to trading and technical analysis (TA), confluence could be described as the development of a trading plan or strategy that takes into account different trading methods or TA indicators. In addition, the term may also be used to describe the combined use of multiple trading signals, as a way to confirm the validity of a potential buy or sell signal. There is a lot of price action confluence going on with this trade, all tipping the probability scales in your favor. There is a confirmed higher low followed by a confirmed higher high (very clear in the wave structure), you plan to be part of the turn that will be the next higher low in the sequence.
